Lifeguard Certification will be held at the Greensburg YMCA and taught by Jeff McClure

     -The classes will be held during the month of January

     -Classes will be taking place Saturdays and Sundays 8:00am-5:00pm

     -Class fee of $200 which includes (pay at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA in advance)…..

Lifeguard training along with CPR-Professional Rescuer and  First Aid, these two certifications will follow the Lifeguard certification, all class materials and required books.

You must be 16 years of age or older and have good swimming abilities. You must also have successfully completed a CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Please call and talk with the Aquatics Director about these two requirements. (There will be a $100 rebate if you are hired to work as a lifeguard here at the YMCA and after you complete at least 100 hours within 6 months.


YMCA Lifeguard Crossover Class
The purpose of this course is to provide knowledge and skills that vary from the American Red Cross program. This is a 16 hour course designed to "crossover" a person currently certified as an ARC Lifeguard.

Prerequisites: Current First Aid Certification, Current CPR-PR, Current AED and Oxygen Administration certification, Current ARC Lifeguard certification


YMCA Lifeguard Re-Certification Class
In order to re-certify as a YMCA lifeguard, you must successfully complete both the water and the written test. The 4th edition of On the Guard II will need to be read before class.  Pick up your textbook at the YMCA when you register and pay at the Member Service Desk.

Prerequisites: Current First Aid Certification, Current CPR-PR, Current AED and Oxygen Administration certification, Minimum of 16 years old, Pass set swimming test
