Swimming
can be such a rewarding exercise and recreational pastime.
Families enjoy spending time together playing in the water whether
it’s a structured games or just splashing around.
It is important to keep in mind that water isn’t only in our
backyard pools, there are ponds, lakes, streams and rivers that could be
nearby. Are your children
playing in these types of water?
Are they experienced swimmers? Those
who choose lap swimming or water exercise classes for their exercise
routines would all agree that the water is the best overall workout for
the entire body. The cardio
the water offers can be more challenging than running/jogging, and the
whole body can be targeted in one workout
for toning in both swimming laps or in a water exercise class.
Are you interested in becoming a competitive swimmer?
Is it difficult to participate in land-based exercise classes? Although
the pool is a source of great fun for families and individuals, it can
also be one of the most dangerous environments for people to be in.
It is important for everyone to know how to swim adults and
children alike. There are
thousands of people who die in drowning related
accidents every year. Many
of these accidents could have been prevented if people allowed themselves
the opportunity to learn to swim or how to recognize dangerous situations,
which can all be experienced in our YMCA Swim Lesson Program.
We would love to share our skills and knowledge with you and your
families if you would like to take the opportunity
